Restoring Hope logomark—helping children in South Asia thrive through family-based care, education, and the local church.

children's lives transformed, cycles of poverty broken, and opportunities before us

ONCE MOCKED, NOW THEY VISIT HIS HOME

When Devvik* was very young, his father passed away from illness. His mother was left to raise two children alone, working as a daily wage laborer in the fields just to put food on the table. Many times, there wasn't enough. Relatives and neighbors who could have helped largely looked away.

One day, Devvik's mother heard a local pastor share about how their church was caring for children facing situations just like theirs—through Restoring Hope. Today, our model of care keeps children with their biological families whenever possible. But years ago, when Devvik first came to us, that support looked a little different. He was welcomed into the church children's home, surrounded by people who cared for him, ensured he had proper nutrition and medical care, and walked alongside his education every step of the way.

He still remembers it as a place where, for the first time, everything felt safe.

Over time, Devvik (pictured middle above) became active in the church: playing the drums, singing, dancing, and serving however he could. Academically, he says he had never been at the top of his class—but with help and by God's grace, he made it through 10th grade, then through his intermediate studies, and qualified for engineering school.

When he told our social workers his dream of becoming an electrical engineer, they didn't just encourage him. They helped make it happen.

Today, Devvik is finishing his final year toward an engineering degree and is currently doing his internship. This kind of professional career path is nearly impossible for fatherless children in rural South Asia—unless people step in to help. People like you who partner with Restoring Hope!

The transformation is reflected his recent update: "The people who once mocked my family, ignored us, or pitied us now respect us and visit our home. God has transformed our situation."

Deevik's story is a reminder of what can happen when people jump in to help. In 18 years of caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, we've found that people are most likely to help when someone tells them a story like Devvik’s!

And that's why we're launching something new: Hope Amplifiers. This isn't a typical "volunteer team." There are no meetings, no big time commitments, no public speaking—just a few seconds here and there.

Here's how it works: When we post something on Instagram or Facebook that we believe matters—a story like Devvik's, a prayer request from South Asia, or a moment worth celebrating—we'll let our Hope Amplifiers know. All you do is…like it, comment on it, and share it!

Here's why it matters so much: Word of mouth is how most people hear about Restoring Hope in the first place. By sharing a post, you make it possible for more children like Devvik to experience a hope-filled future with Jesus.
