The End of 2022

Nov 29, 2022
FUNDRAISING, IN THE FIELD, PRAYER, STORIES

After the Director’s Trip in early November, there have been non stop campaigns to advocate for the 700 children and families in our programs. Orphan Sunday, The Fall Festival Hosted by the Berns Team, and Giving Tuesday have recaps below!

ORPHAN SUNDAY RECAP

On November 13th, 2022 there were 54 village churches in South Asia that participated in Orphan Sunday! The staff and caregivers encouraged all the parents and children, staff and social workers who attended the nearest participating village churches. The bible reference was from Isaiah 1:17: “Learn to do right; seek justice.Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” After the history of the Orphan Sunday was explained, the staff in the field told us:

Caregivers explained about the vision and future goals for Restoring Hope’s programs for children and families. They spoke about how we are growing and finding success. There’s been feedback that the communities are benefiting from the impact of the work with children and families also. In addition, the child’s life is transforming in many positive ways.

THE FALL FESTIVAL BY THE BERNS TEAM RECAP

Restoring Hope came in 2nd place for votes and was awarded $8,500 by The Bern Team! Two staff and one volunteer were represented in La Canada, CA for the Fall Festival, which is when the awarded money was presented on November 20th, 2022. We are grateful to all those who voted in October to make this possible and now up to 5 students will have their college tuition paid for this year! The impact was so huge and the generosity from The Berns Team is so appreciated!

GIVING TUESDAY RECAP

The total amount raised on November 29th, 2022 was $1,840! We are so thankful to those who participated in unleashing generosity on this global day of giving: through prayer, service and financially contributing on Giving Tuesday!

THAT’S NOT ALL…

We’ve launched the end of year campaign and mail is on its way!

The end of 2022 will be conclude by focusing on “seeing them through”.

– Restoring Hope Stateside Staff

We are excited to hear your responses and feedback at the end of this year on how we are doing. Please also continue to pray for the financial end of 2022! More specific prayer requests:

  1. That young adults in this ministry would be on the journey towards baptism and envisioning themselves as leaders into the future.
  2. That any issues and challenges that have come up due to the pandemic and family reunification would be apparent and have feasible solutions identified.
  3. That, in part due to the recent gathering in November, the community building and growth achieved, 700 children and families would be healthy and hopeful, seeking God’s Kingdom in new and powerful ways.
